Job description
The Vice President (Public Relations and Advertising) will play a pivotal role in shaping
the strategic direction of our client services and public relations initiatives.
The candidate will lead a team of PR and advertising professionals and drive the growth
and success of clients, ensuring seamless client onboarding and exemplary client
management. He/she will be involved in new account development, operational leadership
and management team decisions, initiatives and discussions regarding agency direction.
This is a high-impact leadership role that requires a dynamic, strategic thinker who can
deliver results while maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism.
The experience should be within creative/PR agencies, and the role is to partner
with clients to lead the client and agency team forward through the process of
identifying and solving problems.
This Position holds accountability for the health of the client businesses to the agency
both financially and relationship-wise.
Job Responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve client goals and agency growth
targets.
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the account management and PR team.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure cohesive and integrated campaigns.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key client accounts, fostering strong
relationships.
- Understand client needs, objectives, and industry trends to offer strategic
guidance.
- Oversee the development of account plans and ensure their successful execution.
Business Development:
- Drive organic growth within existing client accounts by identifying opportunities
for upselling or expanding services.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities, engaging in pitches and presentations.
- Contribute to the development of proposals, contracts, and negotiation strategies.
Team Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing account management and PR team.
- Set clear performance objectives, provide feedback, and facilitate professional
growth.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on excellence.
Financial Management:
- Monitor account profitability, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing and financial reporting.
Job Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field. A
master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 15 years experience in a senior management role in an agency.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to
effectively engage with clients and media.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to
inspire, guide, and mentor staff. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and
execute PR/Digital campaigns that achieve client objectives.
- Proficiency in using PR and media monitoring tools and analytics platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client accounts
and projects simultaneously.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment.
Education
- UG: B.A in Journalism
- PG: Integrated PG in Journalism / Mass Communication, MBA/PGDM in Marketing
